Out of the Darkness

Every year on the fist Saturday of November the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) puts on a walk here in Louisville.  Every year, my mom and I go.  This year the weather was perfect, the drive down to the waterfront was easy, basically everything aligned so that we could participate in the walk with the smallest amount of stress. (Which was nice since the pregnancy has made walking long distances not so fun.)

This walk is very important to me.  I had struggled with depression.  I’ve known people who’ve lost loved ones, and I had nearly lost a loved one myself.  Its a sad topic that affects more people that we would care to imagine.

Its a cause that I’m willing to give some money and my Saturday morning to.

Walkers went all the way around back up to where I was standing
